Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom enters 100-crore club


Rustom box office collection is showing no signs of slowing down even in the second week of its release. The Akshay Kumar starrer has entered the Rs 100-crore club and will add many more crores to its box office collection before this weekend.

The movie that stars Akshay Kumar as a Navy officer earned about Rs 6 crore on Saturday. This brings the total earning of the film to Rs 101.31 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted earlier, “#Rustom continued to dominate the marketplace, despite a plethora of fresh releases… [Week 2] Fri 4.41 cr. Total: ₹ 95.31 cr. India biz.” and one more tweet on 20th August 2016.

This brings the total worldwide earning of Rustom to Rs 125.6 crore. Made with a budget of Rs 50 crore, Rustom is way ahead in competition with Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro last week and Abhay Deol’s Happy Bhag Jayegi this Friday. While Hrithik’s period drama has earned over Rs 50 crore in the first week, Happy Bhag Jayegi opened at BO with Rs 2.32 crore on the first day.
