Soon, cinema lovers in Uttar Pradesh will be able to see their favourite movies in their own city and may not need to travel to their neighbouring towns or cities to enjoy some light moments with friends and family. This is a new initiative taken up by Vishal Kapoor, Former Member of UP Film Development Council, who is also popularly know as the “go-to person” when it comes to promoting UP as a film production destination.
Vishal Kapoor needs no introduction today because of his works for the development of Films in UP and Employment through Cinema. It is only because of his initiative that many Filmmakers has shown interest in shooting their films in Uttar Pradesh. Even few Hindi Movies were filmed in Uttar Pradesh during the tenure of Shri Vishal Kapoor.
Mr Kapoor has taken the “Mission– Let Us Change” rather seriously and is working in a mission mode to identify, restore and transform old cinema houses into modern entertainment spaces for “UP’s common man”.
To make his mission goals clear, he says that old cinema houses will be renovated to start over again or be converted to multiplexes in line with the changing times and demand. Underlying this idea is to fulfil people’s aspirations while also creating new opportunity in terms of jobs.
Mr Kapoor in past has taken several novel initiatives to make Uttar Pradesh and India pround. “Khadi at Cannes International Film Festival” ,”Make Your Film in U.P. , “More Films More Employment”, ” Bollywood to Luckywood”, and “Films – an Opportunity for Skill Development” were some of his most talked about initiatives he undertook during his association with the UP Film Development Council.
This Mission is to educate, aware, and bring more investors to U.P. So they invest, restore, transform and bring life to old cinema halls with large employment. For this a proposal soon Mr. Kapoor will be mooting to Govt. Of U.P. So U.P. Govt can be a part of this Mission if they support this cause to save heritage of Cinema and it’s lovers and Locals can enjoy entertainment in thier own cities at a larger scale.
