Desun Hospital in Kolkata introduces an Agusta 109 SP Rooftop
Desun Hospital organizes a successful trial on a rooftop helipad with the Agusta 109 SP helicopter, signaling a significant advancement in emergency medical services in Kolkata. On January 14, 2025, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approved the strategy that encompasses providing critical care air ambulance services in West Bengal, the North-East, and Eastern India. The specifications and precautions to ensure timely medical interventions.
Displaying the Desun hospital’s readiness for such operations, the Agusta 109 SP helicopter took off from Behala Flying Club and landed safely on the rooftop platform. Through quick, efficient, and more seamless patient transportation, this impending development is anticipated to improve the hospital’s capabilities to accommodate and improve the hospital’s medical emergencies effectively and save lives.
According to the statement, the hospital informed the Airports Authority of India (AAI) of the flight plan and proceeded with all necessary coordination in full compliance with standard operating procedures.”Now that the trial has been successful, we will be able to offer air ambulance services to those who need critical care support but might not have the necessary time for faster medical intervention,” said Sajal Dutta, the managing director and chairman of Desun Hospital.
