Jharkhand Student Protest Heats Up in Ranchi
Things have gotten tense in Ranchi. For days now, thousands of students and job aspirants have been out on the streets, pushing the state government to fix what they call a broken recruitment system.
The anger is mostly aimed at exams run by state agencies, especially the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, JSSC. Students say there are problems with how the tests are conducted, delays in results and recruitment timelines, and questions around transparency.
For many of them, these government jobs aren’t just another option.
March to the Assembly
Protest groups are now planning to march toward the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha. In response, Ranchi has seen tighter security. There are more barricades up and extra police posted around key areas in the city.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that several issues have already been looked into. He’s urging students to come to the table and talk instead of protesting. But student leaders say that’s not enough. They argue that some of their core demands are still pending, so the agitation continues.
